Another year has passed. Indeed, time flies so fast. Many things happened in just a single year and we barely noticed that the year is coming to an end. There are only few hours left before the new year so I want to greet everyone a
"I gotta feeling... that tonight's gonna be a good night."
This Black Eyed Peas song is applicable for almost every night before my Christmas break. Indeed, the Holiday season is not complete without Christmas parties.
Paskolar
Dec. 13 @ the Medicine Auditorium
All scholars are required to attend this annual event. The theme for this year's Christmas party/ General assembly is Paskolar: Scholars on the Move. We were asked to bring school supplies that we can donate for the children as a part of the Community Development activities.
During the program, we imitated ABS-CBN's Christmas station ID "Star ng Pasko". We held our cellphones up high while singing the song. The program is lively and fun because of the entertaining hosts and the games. It was unfortunate that I was not able to finish the program because I had to leave early.
Paskuhan Mass
Dec. 15 @ the Plaza Mayor
Before the mass, we went to Dapitan street to fetch some of our friends who are playing billiards. :)
The Paskuhan Mass is the first day of the 4-day celebration of the countdown to 2011. The mass started late and we were so hungry that after the mass we rushed to our classmates who are holding our food stubs. It is by tradition that there is free food for the students during the Paskuhan. We went to the Shakey's booth because we were expecting some mojos but we were disappointed because the box contains only chicken and garlic bread. Anyway, we had so much fun because we had the chance to get together and forget schoolworks just for one moment.
Section 2-20 Christmas Party
Dec. 16 @ room 311 Eng'g. building
My first two wishes for Christmas are somehow "unreachable". So now let's go to the affordable ones.
Since the death of Francis M. and Pres. Cory Aquino, the country has been showing Filipino pride through clothing and fashion. Probably because these two people have shown passionate love for the country and inspired others to be patriotic as well.
Here are some that I really like:
Team Manila jackets and shirts:
Congratulations to my friends from the Engineering Sciences Dept. for winning this year's Carol Fest!
What a good way to start the holiday season! :D :D :D
Watch the winning piece and join them in singing:
(Dapat kasali ako dito eh, pero buti nalang di na ko tumuloy kasi baka matalo pa pag andun ako. lol.)
Found a new way to earn money on the internet :)

Hello! I'm back! It's been 2 weeks since my last post. I was too lazy to post a new entry or even check my blog because of the start of classes. I'm in the afternoon class now and I also have an evening class. It really caused a major shift on my lifestyle and my mood as well.
I decided to continue my wish list because it's just a month away before Christmas and I still have no funds to buy a present for myself. I hope this would reach the North Pole. ;p
I love music, just like everyone. I play some instruments, but I'm not good at all. Both of my parents are music majors, so it's a shame if I can't even play do-re-mi. I listen to my favorite music through my computer, my cellphone or my iPod shuffle. My purple iPod shuffle was given to me as a graduation gift. Now I want a new gift, the new iPod Nano with video!
Good news to all zombie killers out there!
Left 4 dead 2 will be out in the market on November 17. :)
At last! After 3 days of server maintenance, I already accessed my grades on the UST website.
My friends and I were really aiming for high marks this semester so we can be on the Dean's list. We had a great start, we even got perfect scores on some quizzes. But our final exams were more difficult than expected. Somehow we felt giving up on our 'DL dreams' but we gave it our best shot and we knew that God will do the rest.
After the very long and exhausting semester, all I can say is that those sleepless nights are worth it.
Christmas Wish List part 1
Posted by klomster | 11:48 PM | cellphone, christmas, review | 7 comments »
I only have less than two months to buy myself a gift this Christmas. I have a long list, that's why I have "money-making schemes" to help me buy these stuffs. At this point, I still need to work harder and spend lesser because I can't rely on Santa anymore. I remember those times when I wake up to see gifts on my bed or under the christmas tree. One time I received a Batman action figure. That was really on my wish list because I want action figures to pair up with my Barbie's, haha. Now that I already know who Santa really is, I do not receive gifts anymore, how sad. :(
Anyway, first thing on my list is a new cellphone. Years ago I can enumerate all phone models of Nokia, even its features and price on the market. Now, because of the rapid advancement in technology, I don't even know my mom's phone model. I have a Nokia N73 Music. I bought it 2 years ago and I told myself that I will never buy again until I graduate in College. But everything has changed, because my phone's not that good anymore. It is full of scratches and though it's still working, there are times that I encounter some problems regarding the phone memory.

(for more info click here)
Another semester has officially ended. We took Filipino and Philosophy exams yesterday. As expected, the last day is not that frustrating compared to the first two days, in which we took up Calculus and Physics.
Calculus has never been fun. It was perhaps the most difficult subject to understand. Good thing Youtube is there for some tutorials. :) Physics, on the other hand, is a bit easier that Calculus. Mostly likely because we have a very good Professor and we have taken it in Highscool so it's not new to us.
I am so happy that the exams are finally over. No more sleepless nights... for now, because everything will be back to normal after 3 weeks. I also feel sad at the thought of having low grades. :( Well, there's nothing I can do now. I think I've done my best so no regrets! I just hope that me and my friends would pass everything so we can be together again next semester.
Many people have suffered the aftermath of the typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng. Lives were lost, families were left homeless and properties were damaged. Few weeks have passed but some of them are still unable to recover from the damage done by the disaster.
The calamity has brought out the Bayanihan among the nation. The Filipinos, young and old, whether rich or poor, have not failed to show sympathy and response to those victims who call for help.
Rico Blanco, former vocalist of the band Rivermaya gave his sincere contribution by composing this song, entitled "Bangon". He hopes that this song would help raise more funds and donations for the victims. The song and the video show how Filipinos struggled and how we became united as one nation.
When I was young, I dreamt of being a scientist, an archaeologist to be specific. Eventhough I do not know how to spell it that time, I still want to be one because I am fascinated with dinosaurs and I want to dig up their fossils. When I entered gradeschool, I thought of being a newscaster, a flight attendant and an astronaut. But no matter how difficult it may be to decide for my career, I know there will be only one destined for me. And so I quote, "Sa hinaba-haba man ng desisyon, sa Engineering din ang tuloy." :)
I am more of a reader than a writer. I like novels, particularly sci-fi, mystery and suspense. The first book I finished reading (besides my ABC book) is Harry Potter. I love the Harry Potter series. My favorite is the 6th book, the Half-blood Prince. I've watched the movie of course, and it's very disappointing because I was expecting more. I hope they would give all their best in the last movie.
Some of the best books I've read so far include "Cradle & All" by James Patterson, "The Door to December" by Dean Koontz and Dan Brown's "Angels and Demons".
Have you ever won the lottery? Me, I've won a couple of times already. About a hundred million pesos in total, but I've never touched the money.
I'm talking about this scam text message saying, "CONGRATULATIONS! You've won P12,345,678.90!! Your cellphone number was randomly chosen in our monthly drawing. To claim the prize, call me immediately. I'm ATTY. Pekeng Abugado, President of SuperRich Company. Per DTI-NCR Permit No. 54321." I get so irritated whenever I receive messages like this. Once I replied, "Sayo nalang yung prize ko because I am richer than you." He didn't reply. After a few weeks, he sent the same message, but using a different number.
The negative effect brought by unlimited texting. *sigh*
Another kind of text messages I usually receive are those chain messages. Here are some I remember:
Here comes tropical storm "Pepeng".
Here comes Christmas!
Manong Pepeng
The country is still in the process of recovering from "Ondoy" but the headlines deliver another sad news, another typhoon named "Pepeng". Seeing the aftermath of Ondoy alarmed me and made me realize that we have to do something to prevent this from happening again. According to the weather forecast, Pepeng may not give heavy rains as much as Ondoy but it will bring strong winds that could cause another damage to Luzon.
For the past few days, I've been following this brilliantly-designed site. It's called Facebuko. Obviously, it's a Facebook-inspired website, or should I say, a Facebook spoof. Unlike Facebook, Facebuko is not a social networking site but a blog. It presents phenomenal topics like show business, social and political issues shown in a creative and humorous way.
Here are some of my favorite wall posts from Facebuko: (click picture to enlarge)
September 26, 2009, 10:00 am- Classes were suspended in UST due to "Unending Grace".
The University of Santo Tomas is known to be the oldest University in Asia. Founded 1611, it will celebrate its quadricentennial year on 2011. Besides its 400 years of excellence in different academic fields such as Medicine and Engineering, UST has been popular for being an instant swimming pool during rainy days. The nonstop heavy downpour of rain caused by the typhoon "Ondoy" made the whole Metro Manila submerge in flood.
I was about to get my uniform when I received a text message saying the classes are suspended. Though I live only a few blocks from UST, I decided not to take the risk of getting wet just to confirm if we really have classes or not. It was about 10 in the morning when classes were officially suspended. Flood was already surrounding UST that time yet some of my classmates were still inside.

What is PTC?
Paid-To-Click is an online business model that draws huge amounts of online traffic from people aiming to earn from home. Paid-To-Click, or simply PTC websites act as middlemen between advertisers and consumers; the advertisers pays for displaying ads on the PTC website, and a part of this payment goes to the consumer when he views the advertisement. (en.wikipedia.org)
How do I earn?
It's very simple, you earn by viewing advertisements. You just have to click on one advertisement and wait for about 30 seconds (a timer will appear). Wait for the timer to end then proceed to the next ad. Repeat the steps until you finish viewing all ads.
The trick to this online job is referrals. You are given commissions for every referral activity. The more referrals, the higher your income will be. The PTC sites will give you a banner with your referral link that you can post to your website.
I suggest that you join not just one PTC site (I joined 10). You can open 2 or more tabs then log-in to every site that you joined. While waiting for one timer to end you can click another ad from other site. This can save a lot of time. If you have nothing to do at home, log-in everyday to earn more.
Note: Only one account per household is allowed. These sites can detect your IP address so be careful or you'll get banned.
How much will I earn?
Earnings range from $0.0001 to $0.01 per ad. I know it's not a big amount, but consider this: You click 5 ads per website at $0.01/ad, that is $0.5 a day on 10 websites. And if you have 20 active referrals, that would be $5 a day (50% commission). Some PTC sites have more than 10 ads, so that means more earnings for you. Don't expect to earn fast, patience is a virtue.
How do I withdraw my earnings?
On every site, there is a minimum payout (usually $2). Once you've reached that amount, click on the 'Cashout' or 'Withdraw' button to request for payment. It takes about 24 hours for your money to reach your Paypal or Alertpay account.
What is Paypal/Alertpay?
This is where your earning goes. Paypal and Alertpay are like online banks. Register for free:
Choose personal account then just skip the credit card part. When you feel the need to withdraw your balance, you can request for a check and they will send it to your home address or you can just link it to your bank account.
Is it free to join?
Yes, absolutely free. They won't force you to pay anything. However, you can upgrade for a premium account to acquire other services and it costs a fee.
Note: Beware of scammers. Scam sites would ask you to pay for registration. Don't get easily attracted to websites that offer $100 per click. This is obviously fraud.
I guess I have summarized everything you need to know about PTC. Just click on the 'Earning Opportunities' tab for some of the trusted paying PTC sites. Good luck and Happy Clicking! :)))
Wow, my first ever 'serious' blog entry. Congratulate me. :))
I never imagined myself getting hooked into blogging. I was never a good writer, simply because I am not confident with my english skills and I lack artistry for writing. Oh, and by the way, I was a news writer in High School. News, not literary nor creative writing.
Okay, so much for the excuses. Actually I have a Multiply site, and I have a few blog posts, about five I think. Most of them are just for the sake of posting something on my blank page. To cut the long story short, I really have no interest for this! :c
But that was before. Now, I am convincing myself that I have a hidden talent. I realized that I have to enhance and practice my writing skills when my present English Professor gave me a 'star' (a perfect score) on my first descriptive essay. Cool, someone appreciated my work! :) She is also the inspiration behind my blog title. I got the idea when she told me, "It's your time to shine." So I would like to thank my prof. for that shining star she gave me. I hope she can read this and I hope she would give me a good final grade. hahaha ;p
So that's it for my first post. I hope you would find time to read my future entries. And please don't expect too much from a first-time blogger. I myself do not expect a lot from this hidden talent. :)
Thanks for reading! Goodnight and God bless.
