"Sampung mga daliri, kamay at paa. Sumabog na, sumabog na. Siyam nalang pala."

-There's a big possibility that you'll be singing to this tune if you continue on using firecrackers. Hundreds of firecracker-related incidents have already been reported even before the New Year's eve. If you haven't heard of the negative effects of firecrackers, I'll enumerate it for you:

DOH's campaign, year 2008
Firecrackers cause injuries.
I never watch the local news during New Year's eve because I don't want to see bloody faces and nearly-amputated hands. There are also victims of stray bullets and watusi ingestion. Firecrackers are extremely dangerous. Try typing "firecrackers injury" on images.google.com and see for yourself.

Firecrackers are dangerous to human and animal health.
Dangers exist because firecrackers contain toxic materials. The smoke coming from firecrackers are very dangerous to those who have respiratory ailments, such as pneumonia and asthma. Even healthy people could suffer those adverse effects when exposed to hazardous smoke brought by firecrackers.
It can also cause hearing damage not only to humans but also to animals. “To us humans the noise of firecrackers can be an inconvenience, but to animals – such as dogs and cats – with highly sensitive hearing, that same noise can be the equivalent of a cannon going off near them,” said Aileen Lucero of the EcoWaste Coalition. “Magnify that by the amount of firecrackers all going off at once on New Year’s Eve, and imagine the mega-torture that the day brings to them.”

EcoWaste Coalition's campaign against firecrackers
Firecrackers cause hazards to the environment.
Excess of toxic materials such as manganese, cadmium and lead can cause depletion to our ozone layer. Firecrackers also cause air pollution and emits greenhouse gases that is very harmful to our environment.

December 17, 2010. UST Grounds. My third Paskuhan.

Paskuhan 2010 was good, but not better than last year. I was a bit disappointed with the delays and those corny, unnecessary but frequent interviews. I still had fun though, fireworks FTW.

It was quite boring, I'll admit. Comparing it to last year's celebration, this one's like a very ordinary occasion, nothing special. They invited only three celebrity guests, namely, Shalala, IC Mendoza and Sarah Geronimo. We were actually expecting a lot more because there were so many guests last year. The UST Yellow Jackets were also missing in action. A video performance of the UST Singers was also shown, but it would have been better if they performed live. Those interviews from the Main Bldg. were corny and unnecessary, really.

Dearest Santa,
My mom lost her phone the other day. Please please send me the awesome Nokia C7 so I can give my phone to her. hehehe
Lovelots, Claum

Mom and I went to DFA last Tuesday to renew our passports and before we knew it, her phone was gone. It's either she dropped it or someone stole it. I feel really bad for her because important messages and contacts were there and I've also lost a cellphone before, so I know the feeling. :(

If Santa hears my call and sends me a Nokia C7, I would be the happiest person on earth. I can give my current phone to my mom because she badly needs one. Besides, she doesn't mind being the "secondhand user" to every cellphone that I owned in the past. I love you mom for that. :)

Why the Nokia C7? Simple. It suits me.

I'm a self-confessed Facebook and Twitter addict. With the Nokia C7, I can receive notifications, share my location and update my status directly on the home screen. What a convenient way to socialize!

I'm a blogger and a photographer-wannabe. I can't afford a Digital SLR camera, but thanks to that 8 megapixel camera, I can capture high-quality photos and videos and share all of 'em here in my blog.

I'm a gamer. The best gaming experience on a smartphone is viewed on a 3.5" high resolution full touch screen with amazing graphics and powerful sounds. Need I say more?

I'm insomniac. Well, not really.. I just can't sleep without reading a book or listening to my favorite songs. With the Nokia C7, I can read e-books and listen to music using the built-in music player and FM radio.

Oh Nokia C7, be mine. <3

We watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 on its opening day because we were so excited to see it. The movie did not disappoint me. It made me really really happy.

I will not give a detailed review of the film because I don't want to spoil those who haven't seen it yet. For me it is the best movie adaptation of Harry Potter because it is very (but not entirely) close to the book. The 2 and a half hour-movie covered almost every chapter, but not page to page because it's impossible to squeeze everything. Almost all lines were taken from the book, not like the previous ones where the lines were modified a bit. I was blown away with the superb sound and video effects, as usual. There were a lot of funny parts. The characters never fail to make me smile and laugh. And before I forget.. the kissing scenes! Oh, the kissing scenes.. were unbelievably funny. :)

Overall, HP 7.1 is a super must-watch. I'm pretty sure those who loved the novel would love this too. For those who haven't read the book, you might be a little bit confused but you'll still enjoy it. Don't miss Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1!

It's the battle between the pride of the Philippines and the tornado from Mexico. Manny Pacquiao vs. Antonio Margarito.

You can watch Pacquiao vs. Margarito fight live stream online on the following links:

Both fighters have trained very hard for this fight. This World Super Welterweight Championship battle will surely be exciting so don't miss the Pacquiao vs. Margarito fight.

What's your fearless forecast? Will Pacman grab his eight title?

*UPDATE*
Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao wins his 8th world title via unanimous decision.

On the next episode of Glee entitled "The Substitute", Mr. Schue hallucinates and imagines the members of the glee club as children.

Aren't they adorable? I can't wait for this to see. Also, Gwyneth Paltrow will be the guest star, performing "Umbrella" with other Glee casts.

I'm not really good with HTML and CSS codes so I want to ask for help with my Tumblr layout. I've been working on this for the whole sembreak but I can't get it through... Frustrating, really. :|

What I want  is to make the Facebook and Twitter buttons inside the post. Somewhere in the white paper-like thing, not in the yellow background.

I hope someone could help me with this!

First Blog Award

Posted by klomster | 3:27 PM | , | 6 comments »

WOW! I received my first ever blog award. Thank you MHAY for this 'One Lovely Blog' award. :)

Now it's time to share this award to other blogs that I follow and visit every time. And the award goes to ... *drumroll*

Here are the rules for this award:

1. Accept the award.

2. Post it on your blog together with the name of the person who
has granted the award, and his or her blog link.

3. Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you’ve newly discovered.
Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have
been chosen for this award.

Have you ever heard of the website SFOGS.com? I think it stands for Singapore's First Online Ghost Stories. The website became popular years ago and I don't know if it's still active. I don't want to visit it again because I'm kinda... scared. :|

It's Halloween and ghost stories are just around the corners of the blogosphere. I haven't seen a ghost or any supernatural beings yet, so I will just share my experience about SFOGS--the site that scared the hell out of me.

During the times when DSL connection is not yet present on households, my friends and I spend our free time on our favorite playground: computer shops. We play Star Craft, Counter Strike and update our Friendster accounts. When we don't have enough cash for computer rentals, we share on one PC. And what do we do? We visit SFOGS.

I hate it when my computer's acting crazy during times I needed it the most. It's just like the feeling you get when you can't find something you badly need but it pops out in front of you when you're not looking for it.

Two days before the final exams, I turned on my laptop to print our lectures. Something like this prompted in to my screen: "Your computer did not shutdown properly.." and I was given options like "Start Windows in Safe mode, Start Windows normally" and other two options that I forgot. I tried the second one but after a few seconds it returned to that same prompt. So I tried other options, but it gets back again and again and again.

I was really eager to revive my laptop because I badly need to study our online lectures. So I called my computer technician, hoping he could fix it as soon as possible. Then I found out that there was a problem on my hard disk, a condition called bad sector.

So what is a bad sector?

October 16, 2010. Last day of Final exams. Grash's birthday celebration.

After one restless week of rigorous review, we decided to relax and have fun. Although Grash's birthday is October 9, she moved the celebration a week after to give way to the final exams.

First stop: Balsa.

Grash's aunt is one of the owners of this floating restaurant so we usually celebrate her birthday here. We were talking and laughing endlessly, due to the fact that we have not seen each other for a long time.

Pinost ito ng classmate ko sa Facebook. Naisip kong ishare sa inyo kasi inspiring. :)

This speech was delivered by a La Sallian engineer in one of the graduation ceremonies at the UP College of Engineering.

Pero ni minsan, hindi pa ako nakakakita ng unibersidad na nagbigay ng “Hang-on and managed to graduate despite nearly getting kicked-out during his academic stay” award.

TGIF

Posted by klomster | 10:18 PM | , , | 0 comments »

It's been a long time since I visited my blogs. I had a super busy and hectic week AGAIN. I'm actually getting used to hell weeks hell sem already. I guess that's normal for a majoring student like me. However, it's Friday!! So TGIF! :)

I really had a very fun day. After an 'examful' week (we called it semi-finals because next week is our finals week), today we were given a chance to relax and enjoy even just for a short time. :D

Our class adviser celebrated his birthday two weeks ago. We prepared a surprise for him but sadly he was absent because he had dengue. Now that he's recuperated, he treated us for merienda! After class we went straight to a vacant room and he arrived with 3 big boxes of Tokyo Tokyo Bento! The class ate together, we shared stories and laugh at each other. It was fun. Thank you Sir! Sa uulitin. :))

Warner Brothers released the new trailer of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows a while ago. As I was watching it I get more and more excited.

Let me share my excitement:

Isn't is great? I really can't wait to watch the movie. I think it's better than the first trailer. If you want to watch the other trailer (released 3 months ago), click HERE.

The wait is over for all the Gleeks out there! We will finally see the season premiere of Glee entitled "Audition".
Who's excited? ... I AM! :)

I'm sure everyone's gonna like the new season because I heard there will be a lot of guest appearances and more exciting performances! Of course, we would see Charice unleash her talent to the world. She really makes all Filipinos proud. Britney Spears would also be in the show. That's a lot to look forward to.

I logged in to Twitter and a few minutes ago and I was shocked to see this:

It seems like Twitter is infected with a bug or a virus. According to some, Twitter is infected with a mouseover security flaw that automatically sends DM or retweet other's tweets without the user's consent.

To know more, read this: http://mashable.com/2010/09/21/twitter-mouseover-bug/

The good news is.. we can still tweet by using Tweetdeck or any other Twitter clients because only the Twitter.com website was infected by the bug. :)

Happy First Anniversary!

Today marks exactly one year and four days since my first blog post. I was not able to create this blog entry last September 15 due to my busy schedule. However, it's better late than never! Haha.

After a year, my blog has already reached a total of 6,350 page views from 72 different countries. (Half of it came from me though. hehe) I have gained 85 followers and reached a page rank of 2.

My blog statistics may not be as good as other new blogs out there, but I'm still thankful that I have somehow built a network of friends through this blog.

The UAAP Cheer Dance Competition is a blast! I enjoyed watching it even just in front of the TV. It felt really awesome to show your school spirit. I'll make sure that next year I'll be inside the big dome to cheer for UST! :)

CONGRATULATIONS to UP (champion), FEU (1st runner-up) and UST (2nd runner-up). You guys deserved it!

I still love the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe even if they're not the champions. I believe that next year, our quadricentennial year.. they will surely bring back the crown to where it truly belongs.. ESPANYA! :)

Trivia: UAAP Cheer Dance Competition is the top trending topic on Twitter! Salinggawi is also in the TT. Nice one, guys! :)

Tomorrow is the big day for all the participating schools in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Cheer Dance Competition.

As we all know, I am a Thomasian, a student of the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Engineering. So obviously I will support the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe. I support the SDT not just to show my loyalty to my beloved university, but because I know they are good performers. I have been a fan of their versatility and capability in dancing even before I entered the university.

They may not be in the top spots last year, but their 5 consecutive championships have already proven their talent. So tomorrow, win or lose, the SDT will always be the best for every Thomasian. :)

GOOD LUCK to the SALINGGAWI dance troupe and to the UST Yellow Jackets!

Thomasians, let's make #BawiGawi, #UST400, #Salinggawi and #Retribution on Twitter!

Which school will prevail tomorrow? Leave your fearless forecast on the comments section below.

Mobile Blogging

Posted by klomster | 10:59 AM | , , , | 0 comments »

I was studying Differential Equations, but I could not understand what I was reading so I reached for my phone, opened my web browser and decided to try mobile blogging.

Now that I've tried it.. I'll go back to studying. I can't afford to fail my exam!

See ya later folks! :)

On my last post I talked about 'Online Shopping' and how I tried it for the first time. I was having thoughts that I might be scammed for my package took so long to arrive. But last Wednesday (my birthday), the item that I ordered on eBay finally arrived. Here it is!

Yeah, it's a new Jansport bag. I've been saving for this for a long time but I was always tempted to spend my savings so I decided to use my Paypal money that I got from PTC sites.

This just proves that one can really earn from the internet. Besides this bag I also bought a new cellphone last June. It's a Nokia 5800 Xpress music. I didn't pay for it on my own. Only about 40% of it came from what I earned through PTC and blogging. Mom paid for the rest. haha. :)

Have you ever tried online shopping?

From cellphones, clothes, shoes and food..almost anything can now be bought online. Because of online shops like eBay, Sulit.ph and Multiply, people can now buy anything they want in just a click, instead of driving to the stores. As for me, I still prefer the usual shopping. I like it when I can actually see and touch the things I want to buy. But sometimes I browse online shops to 'canvas'. I get some ideas on designs and the prices that I should expect.

Hi guys, can I ask you a favor? My friend Jep joined Powerbook's latest contest, the Mockingjay book cover design making contest!

So if it's okay with you, kindly visit and like Powerbooks Facebook page and 'LIKE' his entry.

I would not take time to 'campaign' his entry if it's not good, but it's actually the best among all entries, seriously. And besides he'll treat me if he wins. :))

Here's his entry:

It's worth the LIKE, right? Now click that button and tell this to your friends too. Visit Jep's blog too. :)

Prelims week is officially over. All I can say is.. That was one helluva week! After those days of sleeping so late and waking up early to study, I'm happy that the first ever major exam for my majoring years is done.

But wait, there's more... I'm just halfway of my program.. I still have 5 more semesters to go. Naiinip na talaga ako.

Oh yeah, I'll make kwento about the exams nga pala..(Feel ko mag-taglish ngayon. haha) Hmm.. overall, the exams were okay. Not that easy and not really too difficult to answer. Electronics, Vector Analysis and Electrical Engineering were the subjects that I am in the brink of failing. But thank God the exams went well (I guess?).

"Inception is a very complicated movie, but it's still easier to understand compared to Electronics."

--This is my current FB status. After not attending my Electronics class to watch Inception, I realized that the movie was really worth cutting for! :))

Watching the movie was not really part of the plan. Yesterday, we had a few hours of break after taking the practical test on EE, but we still have to go back for our 2-3 pm Electronics class. Flutz and I decided to stay with our CE friends during the break but they were planning to watch The Last Airbender since they were already dismissed. I was convincing them to wait for us until 3pm but I was the one to be convinced on cutting my class and go with them. Oh, I have such good-influencing friends. :)) In the end, we decided to watch Inception because The Last Airbender is in 3d and we're not willing to spend that much during that time.

It was really surprising for me not to be guilty after cutting my class. That is not so me! hahaha. The reason for that is because I really want to relax and have fun before the preliminary exams this week. And besides the last movie I watched was Iron Man 2. I'm such a loser. hahaha.

I have a new blog!

FINALLY! I'm officially launching my new blog. It's called..

I will not discuss the details about the blog because I'm too lazy. Just visit it and read the 'About' page. haha.

And please do me a favor, click the Facebook 'LIKE' and the Retweet button on the posts! And follow me too! :)

Today is the first death anniversary of the woman who tied a yellow ribbon to the Philippines to make us one, former President Corazon Aquino.

She may be gone, but her presence is always alive in every Filipino's heart. I admire her for her strength, her faith and her undying love to our country.

The history and legacy she made will be passed to the next generations. May the people protect the democracy she fought for and may God bless the Philippines.

Do I have to continue this blog post? Everything I want to say is already in the title.

I am busy, tired and stressed...

with SCHOOL! :(

I've been spending late nights to study for three weeks already. I go to school very sleepy and I come home very tired. But the real reason for my stress is not the lack of rest and sleep, but because the hard work seems not to pay off. :|

I'm already halfway to finishing my degree, yet I feel like the end is so far and it's very hard to reach. Sometimes I'm wondering if I can make it, but I never lose hope.

I know I can do this. God, help me.

I love my school and my program. I'll make them proud.

Do this when you are BORED:

Go to Google, type in: "Google Gravity" and click "I'm feeling lucky."

Observe what will happen next..

I also discovered other fun games at chrome experiments. Try it! :)

Math Humor

Posted by klomster | 5:35 PM | , , , | 2 comments »

As an Engineering student, I have a very soft spot on Math humor. Just recently I was studying for my Differential Equations quiz when I saw this on my book:

"Eliminate* the arbitrary constants c1 and c2 from the relation..
... blah blah blah...

*By differentiations and pertinent legitimate mathematical procedures. Elimination by erasure, for instance, is not permitted."
(from page 6 of Elementary Differential Equations 7th ed. by Rainville and Bedient --of course the 'blah blah' was not there.)

Okay. It may seem corny for some, but I honestly can't stop laughing when I read this because I remembered the time I was teaching my friend Calculus during summer.

[insert flashback moment here]
Noelle: Ang hirap! Hindi ko ma-eliminate yung x!

ME: (handing the eraser) O eto, matatanggal na yung x! :)

---TENEN! Eraser method was born! :)))))

Here are some pictures from the net that I find really amusing:

This is the movie I've been waiting for!! Finally, the official trailer has been released and it made me more excited...

Watch the trailer and tell me what you think! :)

Yes, you've seen it right. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be in two parts. Part 1 hits the theaters on November 19th, 2010 and the second part will be on July 2011.

I don't know if presenting it in two parts would be good for a finale. I'm 101% sure that people will be pissed off after feeling the excitement of the first part then waiting for eight months just to continue it. But I know the movie's gonna be better than the previous ones because it is the final installment (sad. :|). The good thing is.. instead of 7 movies, we'll be seeing 8! So let's all be happy! :)

OH I CAN'T WAIT!

A Very Busy Start

Posted by klomster | 8:09 PM | , , | 4 comments »

It's been two weeks since my last post. Studies and extra-curricular activities made me really busy during that two-week period. Now that I am a third year majoring student, I am expecting that things would get really harder each day, giving me less time to do the things I love, such as blogging. But I will do my best to update my blog whenever I have free time so somehow I could still be connected to my blogger friends. :)

For this blog post I would like to share the things that made me really busy. First, STUDIES. This semester, I have 25 units, composed of Math, Computer and Physics-related subjects.Of course, numbers and computations will always be in an Engineering student's curriculum. But the subject that made me unexpectedly busy is not even related to what I'm taking.. ETAR or Economics, Taxation and Agrarian Reform.

Classes will start in a few days so I bought all the things I needed for school. And there's only one thing I needed-- a notebook. I'm maarte in terms of choosing my notebook. I consider the quality, the design and the price. Last year, I bought a Stradmore wirepin notebook called "Why Ask Why?". It is full of interesting questions like, "Why are boxing rings square?" and "Is there another word for synonym?" It's a good thing I have that notebook because if the lecture is boring, I'd just stare on my notebook and suddenly my boredom would fade away.

For this year I bought a notebook called "Pinoy Signs." It contains funny but true characteristics most Filipino have. And since today is the 112th Independence Day, I will share with you some signs that really apply to me and other Filipinos out there.

Signs That You're PINOY:

Gapan, Nueva Ecija
June 5-6, 2010

This is our 'huling hirit sa tag-init'. Only less than half of our barkada were able to go to Gapan, Nueva Ecija.

We all enjoyed swimming, perfect for a hot day. I loved the slides! :)

Before we went home, we took pictures in the bukid with the kalabaw. hahaha

This is me, making fun of the carabao. Buti hindi ako hinabol! :))

And this is Raffy.. reunited with his long lost bro! LOL.

On our way to the bus station, we saw these cute little ducklings!

Our Nueva Ecija trip was fun! I wish next time 1-4kada would be complete. Classes will start in a few days so I'll really miss them!

Lee DeWyze is the new Idol!

Lee DeWyze is the winner of American Idol!

I am sooo happy! He really deserves it. He has the looks and the talent.

I like Mama Sox too. She has an awesome voice.
But I'm a beLEEver from the start.
:)

I saw this picture on the internet and I find it really amusing so I want to share it.

Oh yeah, that's Dora the Explorer on a mugshot. Weird, eh?

But according to some articles, pictures like this depict irony or protest to the new controversial Arizona's Immigration Law. They're being used by those who oppose or support the law.

There's also a Facebook page called "Dora the Explorer is soo an Illegal Immigrant."

Give Noy a Chance

Posted by klomster | 11:24 PM | , , | 9 comments »

Almost 90% of Election returns have been canvassed as of now. Though it's not yet complete, we can all say that we already have a new President-- Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.

Honestly, I was disappointed with the results. My bets didn't win. Most of the losing candidates have already conceded and accepted their defeat. So it's also time for us to move on, and stop being bitter.

I am never a fan of Noynoy. In fact I feel like he's a bit incompetent for the job. But I got so irritated with those die-hard fans of other candidates who keep on protesting Noynoy's victory. He is not yet proclaimed as President but some are already opposing on his administration.

Take a look at what I've found on Facebook:

C'mon guys, give the guy a chance! I know he has not yet proven anything in Congress and Senate, but who knows, he might be the one to start the change.

Ugly comments have been flooding this page like "bobo", "abnoy" and "walang nagawa". But let me ask you, have you done something good for the country?

Stop complaining. If you don't like the administration, then do not rely on the government. Do something to change the country, even in your own little ways. Your future does not depend on the government, it depends on your choices.

Wooo! I finally got the chance to share my adventure in Thailand. I've been a bit busy with some stuff lately.

It's my fifth time in Thailand but it's my first time to travel alone. Not alone in the plane, of course. My last visit was 4 years ago. I have a few relatives there so we always have a place to stay when we go there. Thailand is a beautiful country. Bangkok, the capital of Thailand is a very developed city. The Thais look exactly the same as Filipinos. In fact it's normal for me to be mistaken as a Thai.

Okay. I'll start with the super exciting elephant ride.

Kanchanaburi, Thailand-- 3 hour-ride from Bangkok. We left the house very early because we have a long day to go...

Elephants are famous in Thailand. If you want to ride an elephant, Kanchanaburi is the best place to be. The ride costs about 300 pesos and it's worth it because the ride is very exciting.

Also in Kanchanaburi is the Tiger Temple. It's a temple with tigers, obviously. :))

There's a list circulating about the 50 most googled women. I've checked it out and I was like, "Why the hell is Bieber here!?!"

The list 50 Most Popular Women on the Web is based from Google search results. But whoever made this list is not yet certain. Anyway, it looks like everyone wanted to know who's in and who's not, so I'mma tell you one time and give you the top 10: (lazy to give the complete 50)

#10- Avril Lavigne
#9- Paris Hilton
#8- Miley Cyrus
#7- Justin Bieber (Epic fail!)
#6- Britney Spears
#5- Rihanna
#4- Beyonce
#3- Madonna
#2- Ke$ha
#1- Lady GaGa

Jejemon Presidents

Ganito ang mangyayari kapag pinagsama ang dalawang 'hot topics' ngayon:

Jejemons + 2010 Elections = picture above
(taken from Facebook)

Hahaha. :))

Yun lang. Ktnxbye.

Ibaan, Batangas
April 5-6
Late post? IKR.

Swimming. Food. Chitchats. Laughter. Friends. FUN. What a good way to start summer. :)

Trivia: This is actually 1-4's second time to visit Batangas. The first is when Flutz had her 18th birthday in San Juan. This time we went to Ibaan, at Clarisse's hacienda. haha. :)

Our meeting place is in Cubao, where we did a little grocery-shopping while we wait for the van. The roadtrip lasted for almost three hours. We were tired and hungry when we got there, but we were so happy for the warm welcome the Eleosida family showed us.
Adobo turned Sinigang
One thing that I will miss about this trip..is the FOOD. Delicious food. The dish that you see in the picture above is actually adobo. But believe me, it doesn't look and taste like adobo. I was not able to take a closer shot of it because it's not my cam and I don't have a phone (with camera). My friends are debating that it's either kaldereta or menudo because it has potatoes and it tastes like there's tomato sauce. Clarisse is insisting that it's adobo so I just told them, "Para walang away, Sinigang yan, SINIGANG!" Hahaha. Anyway, the dish is really good so what it's called doesn't matter anymore.

Plans for summer!

This year, I want my summer vacation to be hot, hot, fun under the sun. :)

Before, I get excited for summer because I can have long hours of sleep. But now, I am more excited to have less sleep, but more fun. My past summer vacations have always been way too boring to elaborate. For a change, I'll make myself busier than ever for two months.

First stop: Batangas
I will be in Batangas tomorrow until the next day. It's 1-4's official outing. Yehey! Hmm.. I should be sleeping by now because I have to wake up early tomorrow. Nah, I'm too excited to sleep! Haha.

Bangkok, Thailand (April 8-22)
This will be my 5th time to go to Thailand. I have relatives there and they invited me to come over. We are planning to see the elephants and some temples and a lot of shopping! Haha. I might  not update my blog during my 2-week stay, but I will post as soon as I get back. :)

April Fool's

Posted by klomster | 11:42 PM | , | 1 comments »

Hello everyone. Sorry I was not able to post for almost three weeks because I was really busy with school stuff. Now that the school year has officially ended, I will try to update my blog very often. I am actually planning to have a new blog. It might be this month or next month, so stay tuned. :)

Okay, so April's here, and today is April Fool's day. Time for pranks. I started the day by sending this message to my friends:

" I have good news, guys.

May boyfriend na ko.
"

At the end of the message, I said "April Fool's". But apparently I was not too convincing. Maybe because it is IMPOSSIBLE for me to have a boyfriend at the moment. LOL.

I thought this day would not be very good but I am so happy that April 1 didn't fool me. Haha. After attending mass, I told my mom that we have an outing in Batangas. At first she doesn't want me to come but thanks to my friends for helping me convince my mom. So there, it made my whole day happy!

Hope you guys are happy too! Enjoy the summer! :)

My future plans

School is indeed stressful, but the positive side of schooling is we get to learn so many things and we meet new friends as well.

As an Engineering student, I have to undergo 5 years of physical and mental pressure to finish my Bachelor's degree. Not only that, I still have to take my board exams to be a licensed Electronics Engineer. Just the thought of it makes me stressed already. Assuming that I pass the licensure exam, I might as well take up a masters degree. Maybe I shall work for about two years to gain experience and to save money for another degree. Or maybe, I can enroll for an online degree so I can still work while studying.

I hate viruses

Posted by klomster | 11:23 PM | , | 0 comments »

For the past few years, the internet has been very useful to everyone in fields like business, academics and even politics. As years go by, technology becomes advance and unfortunately virus-makers even manage to keep pace.

As a daily internet user, one problem I cannot avoid is the virus. Even though I have several antimalware programs installed in my computer, viruses are still found when I scan my drives. I think the reason for this is that I visit a lot of sites and sometimes I am unaware that the site is unprotected. Another thing that bothers me is the spam messages that keeps crawling my spam folder. Right now I'm thinking of having an email server security so I can protect my account from those spammers. I think everyone has to do this because there are sensitive information in our email accounts that need to be secured.

As a college student, it is normal to feel so stressed about homeworks, reports, group projects, paper works and dreadful exams. Aside from those strenuous demands, my other dilemma is the financial aspect of studying. The continuous increase of tuition fees and requirements like drawing materials, laboratory manuals and textbooks are just some of my burdens.

One way to minimize the expenses at school is to buy cheap college textbooks. I remember when I was in first year, we need the full-colored Chemistry book and it costs around 1,400 PhP. Good thing our school gave us few discounts because when you buy outside it will cost even more. This school year, we need the 3-inch thick Physics book that costs almost 800 PhP. I had a little problem because my allowance is not enough to buy the books for all 8 subjects. Me and my friends came up with an idea to sell our previous textbooks, including the Chemistry book to those who need used college textbooks and luckily we found some students and we sold it for 800 PhP. Of course I used the money to buy the Physics book. First problem solved! Next thing I did was to find cheap textbooks at Recto because there they sell textbooks at a lower price. If I can't find the book that I need, my last resort is to borrow from my friends. I just photocopy the pages we need because it costs much cheaper than buying the book.

Access Tonneau Cover

Posted by klomster | 6:14 PM | | 0 comments »

Are you a pickup truck owner? If yes, then you must know that protecting and securing the tonneau or the truck's bed cover is very important in the maintenance of your pickup truck.

One way to enhance your tonneau is by putting a cover. The Access tonneau cover offers various features that will surely satisfy pickup truck owners. It is easy to close, open and remove and it has a reflex latch that will automatically secure the cover when closing. Why choose Access? Because it is the leading tonneau cover manufacturer and they offer different styles that will compensate your truck's needs. The access tonneau cover has different models including the base model tonno sport which costs $300 and mid-range models like Literider and Vanish tonneau cover which costs at around $350. For owners who want the best for their trucks, the deluxe covers and the limited edition covers will definitely meet your expectations.

I do not own a car, but I know that all vehicles must be protected to ensure efficiency and performance. This heavy duty cover is really a must for all truck owners.

UnendinGRace

Posted by klomster | 3:24 PM | | 0 comments »

Yesterday I had to wake up 4:30 am for the UST UnendinGRace. It is still dark when we arrived at UST but you can already see the enthusiasm on every student at the grandstand. Before the run we had to warm up and do some aerobics. We were supposed to be in the 2k race but we ran out of slots so we have no choice but to be on the Walk event. It was a bit boring to be briskwalking while others are running at the 2k and 5k events.

After all the race events, a short program and awarding ceremony were held. Since ABS-CBN and UST are partners for this event, there were few celebrities who happened to be Thomasians as well. They were Nikki Valdez, Manuel Chua from Fear Factor and RJ Jimenez.

The best part of the day is when we played 10-20 (I always bring garter so we can play during free time) and patintero. The last time I played patintero was like a decade ago and I'm not really good at that game until now. It's very fun to play Philippine games most especially when you play it with your dearest friends. This is one the few moments that I will never forget because we had the chance to get together again.

Valentine's Day

Posted by klomster | 9:59 PM | , | 0 comments »

Tomorrow is the 14th of February and the world will be celebrating Valentine's Day. But have you ever wondered why it is called Valentine's day and not lover's day or heart's day? And why do we celebrate it on February 14?

Valentine is a Saint!
The reason behind the celebration of this special day is a saint named Valentine who lived around 270 AD in Rome. During that time, marriage was banned in Rome so lovers who plan on marrying meet St. Valentine on a secret place for the sacrament of matrimony. Because of this, Valentine was sent to prison and eventually he fell in love with the jailor's daughter. It is said that before his execution, he sent a farewell message to the jailor's daughter with a phrase "From your Valentine". St. Valentine was martyred for not renouncing his faith and believed to be executed on February 14, 270 AD.

eVIL LiAR??

I know I'm not in the right position to judge anyone, but I just want to share my thoughts and opinions about this certain person.

DISCLAIMER:
-I do not own the pictures on this post.
-I didn't get paid by anyone for posting this.
-I am not a fan/supporter of Manny Villar, obviously.

Nung first Tuesday of January, may nag-poopoo na ibon sakin after PE. Tapos ngayong first Tuesday of February, NANAKAWAN ako ng CELLPHONE. Nakakaiyak.

Ganito kasi yan, nakaupo ako sa bench while waiting for my turn para mag practical test.

The UST Main Building, Central Seminary, Arch of the Centuries and the UST Grounds have been declared National Cultural Treasures by the National Museum. This is the first time for an educational institution in the Philippines to be part of the list.

Being the oldest university in the country, UST has always been part of Philippine history. The Main Building, established 1927, was used by the Japanese army as an internment camp during the World War II. The Central Seminary was providing Ecclesiastical studies to priests since 1611. The Arch of the Centuries was the original entrance to the university when it was still in Intramuros. The UST grounds is where the traditional freshmen welcome walk, Paskuhan and other activities were held.

Facebook brings CA$H

Last December I joined Paypal's application in Facebook called "Paypal Wishlist". You just have to create your wishlist then invite friends to create their own too. You'll get $1 for joining and another $1 for every friend that joins. Very easy, right? So I got a few friends that joined and when the promo ends the money I collected was transferred to my Paypal account! Now I have a few bucks to spend and my wishlist can come to life thanks to Facebook and Paypal. :)
